& Recreation

The Pikes Peak region offers a variety of recreation opportunities. State and national parks and forests offer sites for camping, picnicking and hiking.
The Colorado Springs Parks and Recreation Department maintains over 100 city parks and offers recreation programs for all ages. Programs include team sports, fitness, and arts and crafts classes.
Garden of the Gods is a 940 acre
park containing unique rock formations.
Memorial Park, in Colorado Springs, has a year-round indoor swimming pool, an ice arena, and the 7-Eleven Velodrome.
Pike National Forest covers 1 million acres west of Colorado Springs. There are picnic areas, campgrounds, hiking and cross-country ski trails. Rampart Reservoir allows camping, fishing, biking, and picnicking.
Pikes Peak, rising to 14,110 feet, is one of the most distinctive peaks in Colorado's Front Range. The summit provides scenic views of the Rampart Range, the Continental Divide, Colorado Springs, Denver and the eastern plains.
